Bartol Family

Dan, Lisa, and their three children have served in Czechia since 2016, excluding a two-year forced COVID furlough in the States. With the challenges of a mostly atheistic and post-modern culture, the goal of seeing church-planting movements among Czechs is their long-term commitment. Their vision is to exalt Christ in the Moravian region of Czechia by planting Gospel-Centered Churches. Dan is an Elder, Evangelist, and Team leader.  An interesting fact: Pre-marriage, Lisa lived in the valley and was a part of The Vail Church, serving on our worship team.  Lisa now uses her gifting and passions in their church plant, leading women’s ministry and family discipleship.
In Czechia, evangelical Christians make up only 0.76% of the population. However, the Bartols have observed a growing spiritual openness, particularly among younger adults. A noticeable contrast exists between the older generations, who still hold cultural ties to the communist mindset, and the younger generation, who are more receptive to the diversity of the Western world. Interestingly, many young people of faith are sharing their Christian beliefs with the older generation. Recognizing the significance of reaching the younger generation, the Bartols and other ministry leaders have initiated a podcast called "Kostel Jinak." This podcast is currently the most widely listened to Christian podcast in Czechia and serves as a platform for building connections with other leaders and future church plants across the country.

We are Praying for:

  • Continued Language Acquisition.
  • The Holy Spirit's power in their family to evangelize, disciple, and train Czech leaders.
  • Wisdom and development of the Academy we are beginning for future church planters and pastors.
