Introduction and Chapter 1

Hosea opens with a startling picture of how seriously God takes unfaithfulness and how deeply He loves His people. Through Hosea’s life and the names of his children, God reveals that sin fractures relationship, not just rules. Yet even in judgment, God speaks words of restoration and hope. Though our unfaithfulness is real, God’s mercy promises a future where scattered, unloved, and rejected people are welcomed back as His own.
