Acts 16-Philippi

Paul and Silas show us that suffering does not have to determine the posture of our hearts. Though unjustly beaten, imprisoned, and chained, they responded in the darkness with prayer and praise rather than bitterness or despair. God used their faithfulness not only to sustain them, but to open doors for the gospel and transform the life of a jailer and his family. When we find ourselves chained by circumstances we cannot control, God gives us strength through prayer, the Holy Spirit, and the hope that He is still at work.
